Children’s Church is a worship time for children of all ages, from babies to teenagers. We meet most Sundays in term time at 10am, as the main service begins in the church. We begin with some songs, activities and prayers all together and then split into age groups for crafts, games and activities. We join the parents, carers and the rest of the church family in time for Communion and share the rest of the service together as a church. During holidays, there are activities and crafts for children either in the church or in the adjoining community rooms.
Once a month there is an All Age service to which children of all ages are welcome with their families.
Good Friday saw St John's holding a wonderful Messy Church. Lots of crafts were made along with some yummy Easter biscuits. We had lots of children, and grown ups, joining in the fun. We then shared a lovely lunch after working hard on all our activities. Keep an eye on our website for the next Messy Church we would love to see you!
Our older group Waterfalls lead Children's Church for our group Fountains. They focussed on Psalm 23 "The Lord Is My Shepherd". The children planned the activities, read and explained the Psalm to the younger group and helped them with the activities. Waterfalls were very pleased with how their session went and were very pleased with their homemade bread named David, in honour of King David! Well done Waterfalls!
