Messy Church is not a craft club or Messy Play, but a way of using creativity, celebration and food to help people come closer to God. It aims to provide the opportunity for people of all ages to worship together, to help them feel they belong in church, to have fun, be creative, and share a meal together. Each session takes a theme, a Bible story, or an event in the Church Year and weaves the crafts and activities around this.
St John’s holds 3-4 Messy Churches a year – at Christmas, Easter, and usually in the summer. Messy Church sessions over the last 4 years have included: Messy Superhero, Messy Journeys, Messy Weather, Messy Fruit, Messy Song, Messy Nativity and Messy Sheep!
We would love you to join us for this friendly, informal service which we hope will appeal to children of all ages and their families.
Come along on Good Friday (April 14th) at 10am and join in. It’s free, fun and there is food for everyone!
