Evensong with the Charter Choir of Homerton College

St John's is proud to work with Homerton College, which is just across Hills Road from us.

Because Homerton does not have a chapel within its grounds, we are able to offer the church facilities and organ for use to both the choir and organ scholars. Since 2012, the Charter Choir of Homerton College, led by Daniel Trocmé-Latter (their Director of Music), has sung a weekly service of Choral Evensong in our church, on a Tuesday during term-time. The Charter Choir prepare and lead all the musical elements for these services, and the non-musical parts are planned by Patricia Maude MBE (the Honorary Lay Chaplain at Homerton College) and led jointly by her and by members of the ministry team at St John's. The Charter Choir also joins us for occasional parish services during the year.

Due to the current pandemic, we have been unable to hold a service of Choral Evensong since early March. However, we are very pleased that the Charter Choir and St John's have come together for a very special 'Virtual' Choral Evensong to mark the end of term.
