A long long way up the A1(M), 300miles, we crossed the tidal roadway back onto the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. We immeadiately set about exploring the beaches - and letting off steam.

At the time of writing we are just back in Cambridge, a quick update. Thursday we walked the Pilgrims Way and managed to find the muddiest slurpiest gully through which to squelch, sinking at least 18" below sand level. Having rescued ourselves from this venture skipping with super long seaweed was our next adventure - before being told we really should hurry in case the tide came in. The youth enjoyed our trip to Lindisfarne so much last year, we have once again loaded up the cars and headed north to Holy Island, this time 10 youngsters are making the most of the space, peace and freedom of the island. Robert had drummed up support for early morning 5k runs, others go out for more leisurely pre breakfast strolls.
