Church Service Times

Sunday services follow a monthly pattern, which is best described using the following table

8 am Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer)
10 am Parish Communion (Common Worship)

The 5th Sunday is either a service of Holy Communion (sometimes an All-Age Communion service) or a service of Morning Prayer. The evening service on the 5th Sunday will be a communion service if communion is not part of the morning service. See the news page for advanced information.

Special Services

Messy Church is a different kind of church. It aims to reach families who are perhaps on the 'edge' of church, where Jesus spent most of his ministry - not in the religious centre of Jerusalem but on the messy fringes of Jewish society. It is about creativity, celebration and hospitality and includes songs, a story, crafts and a meal for all the family. There are four Messy Church events per year.

St John's will hold services to mark special dates in the Christian calendar. These include Christmas morning, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. See the news page for advanced information.
