Wedding days are great celebrations and we are always delighted to hold wedding services at St John's. Anyone who lives in the parish, regularly attends worship at St John's, or who has significant connection with the parish, is welcome to contact us about being
married here. Significant connections include:
Having lived in the parish for 6 months at any time
Having been baptised or prepared for confirmation at St John's
Some parental – and even grandparental – connections with the parish or church
We all know that getting married is a significant and sacred undertaking. To help you prepare for this, our clergy usually meet with couples three or four times
before the big day. The meetings will partly be to help you plan the day and to help you make choices such as what music you will have, what readings you'd like and if you'd like a choir to sing.
During the meetings, we will also give you a chance to talk about what a Christian understanding of marriage is, and how being married might impact your life.
If you would like to discuss getting married at St John's, please make initial contact with Lyn Harrison in the Parish Office.
